How to choose

• Match the banjo eye size to your bolt, and the thread to what you are connecting.
• Use a banjo where a standard elbow will not physically fit or where the hose angle needs to be set at install time.
• Remember the flow path through a banjo is smaller than the line size – keep them off high-flow suction lines.

Technicians Advice

A banjo joint seals on a bonded washer each side of the banjo eye – always fit new washers when you disturb the joint, old ones work-harden and weep. Set your hose angle first, then torque the bolt while holding the fitting so the hose does not wind up with it. If the joint weeps after torquing, do not keep pulling on it: crack it open and check the washer faces are clean and unscored.
