Thread Standards

• BSP Tapered Female – BSPT to ISO 7 / BS 21. Seals on the taper against a BSPT male, with sealant on the male thread.

How to Choose

• Both ends are BSPT female. Size by the male threads you are joining.
• Sealant goes on the male threads only.

Technicians Advice

Put the sealant on the male thread, not in the socket. Sealant in the female end gets pushed into the line when the male goes in, and that is how small valves and gauge snubbers get blocked. With stainless on stainless, use a sealant rated for stainless so the taper does not gall.
